Default Mouth of Clack Report (Friday)

I was the first rig in the park this morning. I had to wait for the gate keeper to open the gate. He was very friendly and informed me that he would try to open the gate by 4:30am as often as he can. He enjoys doing something good for the Salmon fishermen is why he is opening up early.
Tuna Breath, myself and a good friend of ours fished the mouth of the Clack today. The water in the Clack was just a little out of color by the end of the day(5:00pm). It's still on the high side but will have excellent color and should fish like a champ tomorrow. The Willy was flowing a rich color of Hersheys today. On top of that there were logs and stumps of all sizes going by all day. The few boats that ventured out didn't stay out long. It's just too fast and nasty up there according to the people we talked to.
At the high point in the day there were 6 or 7 boats in the line. Three more trolling around the line and out to the seam. One other boat anchored in the boil later in the afternoon. We saw two Springers caught from boats, one Steelie caught from the upper Bulk Head and two Springers on and lost after a fight. There were also either 2 or 3 more valid take downs. Most everyone was fishing prawn spinners. A half red / half white was responsible for a long line release and a take down. Sardine wrapped kwick fish didn't have much action today, but k-15's with just sardine lunker lotion hooked one and lost it. The boat in the boil also hooked a beautiful looking 20 or so pounder that they proudly held up for us. All in all it was a absoutely beautiful day on the river. No hassels or problems with anybody in the hog line or trollers.
edit part: I forgot to mention that one of the long line released was on an Alvin. Silver with a chartruse butt. We went 0 for 0. Not take downs. No drive by's and not even a sniff for our efforts. I have to say that Tuna Breath came out today with the attitude to whup some butt and he did just that on the Cribbage Table. Three games for three today. No mercy. Got to watch em close I tell ya Again, great weather and friends made for a super day.

Thanks for the update, Space Fish. I imagine it'll be a little more crowded tomorrow...Not bad, if everyone minds their manners, I guess.

Maybe my drought will end...
