Default Newport Coho and Trailer Bearings

Took my wife out into the ocean for her first trip. She has never been and wanted to see what all the hub-bub was about. We left the house at 5:30am and hit the ramp at 7:00. Due to some trailer bearing difficulties we didn't get out until 8:30am or so.

Here is what we found:

We ended up boating 12 fish and only bringing home one keeper. Lots of natives. Had lots of strikes too but had a hard time keeping them on. The good thing was my wife got her first ever ocean coho. She actually caught most of the fish.

Did I mention the ocean was like a lake?

The day could have been a perfect 10 but you that little thingy that has the grease zerk on it? It's on the hub of the wheel on your trailer? It is very bad when it comes off and the grease goes bye bye. A big thanks to Newport Les Schawb for allowing my wife and I to fish and getting me back home.

Now to order a new axle and then dump this trailer for a better and bigger one. :depressed:

Edit: Roy, I take back all the bad stuff I said about you boat top.

I am glad you had a nice day for Donna. I figured she might be chumming and not want to go back.

Now why would you say anything nice about my top now?

WOW, Somebody blew that forecast! Looks like you had a great day, even though the keeping wasn't too great. Any fish from the deep and onto the BBQ is a great day!

Rich

Today is my birthday and the only thing that I wanted was for my wife to hit the ocean ( for the first time) with me today as well. We went out of Astoria, what a difference between the two oceans (yours and ours). We had BIG swells once we got out around 10:30. The best part was she drove all day and got us into fish,we had a great day.

We let 9 un-cliped fish go and missed tons more. We had to head back early due to my son getting green after 2 hours, For the day we ended up with 3 for the box.
