A sad day...
I watched today as my Bayliner drove away under new ownership. I instantaly got this horrible feeling in my stomach wondering if I did the right thing .
But I keep telling myself that now I can start looking for more of a off-shore fisherman friendly boat, something a little older that I don't feel so bad about getting blood, scales and more blood all over. Thinking Trophy, Stripper, Mako.... There are many choices out there and I gave my self a timeline of next May Halibut.
So I'm stuck sticking close to shore for a while, unless someone needs a good deck-hand and a seat filled

Re: A sad day...
I'd take the Stripper personally. Don't know how seaworthy they are, but they're heck of fun at the dock

Re: A sad day...
Just my opinion... But if you just watched your Bayliner drive away under new ownership... REJOICE!!!
Now go buy yourself a fishing skiff.
Congrats!

After I get done looking at the strippers, I might check out a Sea Swirl production boat called a Striper

Re: A sad day...
It's good to know you have your priorities in order.. .be patient...good things come to those who wait.
That was an awfully nice boat you had, prolly too nice to get all stunk up w/fish slime. My only suggestion is, get something with more back end and less front end...if ya know what I mean.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">A "St-i-per", what the hay is that? I've heard of Strippers before, don't ask me how I know that, but never a Stiper?
Sorry to see that boat go Andy, that was a fish catching machine! :depressed:
Good luck on the new boat quest and if you need any help spending your money just let me know, I'm real good at spending other people's money!

Re: A sad day...
You can register daily searches at Boat Trader that will tell you each time a new boat pops up within your specs. I registered some key brand names and watched for a year. You can find some excellent prices on top quality brand used boats for the same or less than a new stiper or trophy will run you and usually will be set up with equipment too. I searched for Orca, Seasport, Davis, Farallon, Osprey, Arima,... There are alot of good deals on seasports up in WA that I saw often, my buddy and I each bought one up there.
Happy hunting and good luck!
