True Salty Dog tradition
Last Friday we launched our new boat at Newport and who was there to offer a hand but Blubeast. He helped me snug up to the dock and secure lines while DipSeaDiver parked the truck.
As we motored out of the marina, Popeye and crew saluted us and applauded the arrival of our new boat. Seemed like at every turn there was a Salty Dog who gave a friendly wave and a kind word.
Later that night, when we had some real trouble, Seasquid magically appeared and stood by with Janis while I got the rig to pull the boat back out of the water. When she had trouble cranking it up on the trailer, he jumped in and lended a much needed hand. Thanks, Seasquid!!
A day or two later, when we were ready to launch again, Ifishers showed up in droves to say hi and check out the new ride.
Bottom line is, we used to go to Newport and maybe see one or two people we knew. Now we are surrounded by people we enthusiastically call friends. It's a nice feeling and has added SO MUCH to our trips to the ocean!
Salty Dogs rock!
