Default Another Fishing Report Newport 8/11

We left the dock at 5PM and headed straight out. Dropped the lines in the water as soon as we got past the outer buoy and had our first fish maybe 15 minutes later. Second fish was our only keeper. Ended up catching 5 or 6 and lost a couple on two rods. All fish caught in approx. 160'-170' water. Used the typical diver flasher and hoochie. The Dolphins found our boat and began hovering back by our flashers. We couldn't get away from them and finally gave up about 7:30 and came in. Beautiful evening with gentle seas. Practically had the whole place to ourselves.

Congrats on the fish and pleasant trip. We came across a pod of dolphins on the way back in on Sunday in about 170 feet of water. I slowed down to a crawl to take a look see and couldn't believe how close to the boat they came. There must have been about a hundred of them.

Thanks for the report....
