Default Newport 8/11

Made another trip out in the big blue looking for some salmonoids. Just headed due west until 220', and started fishing. I had a coyote spoon, the other pole had herring. No sooner was the herring in the water, and WHAM! fish on, and one in the box. After repeating that four times in a row (natives-released), I switched.

Since the bite was so good, I turned a few extra back in hopes of getting a nook, but to no avail.

We also had a ton of drive by's. The diver would trip, and sometimes you would even get to fight the fish, but then they would pop off. Some of these fish were real fighters. Zipping line all over the place. I did catch one monster of a ho; must have been 15lbs (it dwarfed a 12lber in the box), but it had too many fins.

It was an easy "L" for the boat.

I love it when a Salmon trip begins and ends that way. Way to go bro

On the way back to the ramp on Sunday I saw a Boice Jet heading out, was that you by chance? I hope to get one more trip in before the closure

TB,

That wasen't me on Sunday. My boat is blue, with yellow and red striping. I was looking for your boat yesterday under the odd chance you were going out on a Monday.

The bite is really good right now (still?). This is a year for the history books. Now, when will Bouy 10 start picking up?

Hey Bro, third week of August and the B10 fishery should be on fire. I will be hitting it pretty heavy then. I have some buddies fishing the area right now and they are picking up fish but it's still a little slow. When the limit is three fish a day for the river, you plan a trip on an early morning flood and hop the bar to grab two fish outside. Then you come back inside and fish from the bridge to the church to grab your nook or scratch your last silver for your three fish limit. I can't wait
