Sea Swan's aliments have almost healed
Well looks like the old girl is getting healthy after two years in the shop. Floor is all replaced and putting some final touches on her tues and Wednesday.
Initial sea trials set for Wednesday with extended sea trial set for Thursday. Depending on how they go the Tuna will have a new preditor in the water. She is much lighter without 35 sq foot of saturated foam in her bilges.
Its been a long time and long project. One thing that I have to say is that I have spent the last month and a half working on her almost nonstop with my father. There were times when one or both of us had to go somewhere and cool off for a bit but I was happy to have him there working beside me. He is a pefectionist and one was needed on this project. It is a shame now that it is ready to go he is already talking about heading back to Texas. I hope to get him out at least a few times and into some fish. Look for us out on the water.
Dustin you and your friend each have a spot at your convience. Thanks for all of your help. thanks to the other Salty dogs that helped out to.
John (Pilar) if you read this I owe you too. the materials that you gave to me comes out to a pretty penny I found out as I was buying more of it. Let me know if there is anything that you need. There was way more than a hundred dollars worth of stuff that you donated to her.
I still have about 15 to 20 sqaure foot of pourable foam and some other stuff left if you are anyone else needs it. I also have about 3 half pints of grey pigment that gets mixed with fiberglass resin if anyone needs that also.
Dan

Congratulations Dan!
It has been a long time coming and I am sure the fish are nervous.
Speak up if you need a sister ship for the shakedown voyage. I can assist Wednesday but I am taking the family camping Thursday through Saturday.
I'm proud of you man, this has been no small undertaking .
It will soon be time to christen the decks with Tuna blood
Make sure to wave when you pass by Sea Lion on your way to the fishing grounds

Wow! That's dedication!!
The real bonus of doing a project like this is you KNOW what the boat is built of.
Labors of love like this make for long relationships
Congratulations!!!!!

Re: Sea Swan's aliments have almost healed
Danny, it was a gift, the least I could do for you, my brother and you are so welcome.
Now that you and Tex know the joys of the chainsaw boat repair you can maybe get an idea regarding how I feel about my boat. Everybody needs to go through that at least once to know why the damn good boats are so expensive. Sometime this winter you need to park the Sea Swan in my driveway and let me go through your wiring. It was pretty messed up when I saw it last and it would take a few weeks during the non-fishing part of the year to get it straight.
Only then will I not worry about you and yours as you chase your dreams on the big blue lake.

Re: Sea Swan's aliments have almost healed
Cranked her up today the first time in two years and she purrs like a kitten Well actually maybe more like a Lion but a little lion anyway. John, I have been doing some of the important wiring as I go. I know what is the important stuff. Bilge pumps, lights, fish finder/GPS, Battery terminals, I also replaced all the wiring on my trim motor. That is the only way for me to do the wiring is one piece at a time. Sea trial's today and tomorrow Friday was to be the first day for blood but it looks like the only blood I will be seeing is from Kevin Costners new movie, Wife says she needs a little time and actually ask me out on a date. Well and the way she sealed that deal I couldn't say no. Dang it I hate that moment of weakness. Sorry Mods.
Saturday it is then.
Dan!

Re: Sea Swan's aliments have almost healed
Dave as you know you are always welcome on Sea Swan. There is always a seat on her reserved just for you. You are that special kind of person I would trust with my seventeen year old daughter ( ) Anyway looking forward to getting out.

Capt. Dan,
Good going!! I heard you were going to be doing a remodel last winter. I bet you are really appreciating it more now that most of the work is done. If you happen to need crew in the future, let me know and I will help with all I can including expences. Take Care Dan, Tight Lines, Tom
