Charleston Halibut/Salmon 8-8 - 8-10

Fished the south high spot on Friday and Saturday. Friday we picked up 4 legals and released 5. Saturday we boated 1 legal and released 2. Heard of a boat that picked up a big fish on Saturday, but other than that I would say the fishing was marginal at best (I think this is the case when fishing buts in August.) Sunday we boated 3 chinooks and released a short one north of the whistler before I had to head back to the valley at 1:00. I love fishing down there as I always come home with meat in the cooler and the guys I fish with have their program down. I never feel at risk while in the ocean with them. It also makes the trip when the ocean is perfect and the sun is out! It's beautiful down there. Anyone else have reports from the high spot over the weekend?

oh man.. I probably zoomed right by ya!! were you fishing in the town of boats? I went a little further south. and in a couple of drifts had a 45lb and a 50lb in the boat... To bad we missed ya guys..

Nice work on those big butts. We were with those boats for a short time. We moved all over the high spot looking for a big butt, just never found him. Had some fresh fish and chips last night, mmm good.
