Coos Bay Tuna
Sunday we left dock at Charleston at 9A heading due west as we heard there was a nice bite at about 20miles. We hit 61 water at 18 miles and saw about 6 boats in a mile radius working a fairly distinct temp break. We kept trolling west and hit a double on a diver and a sideline. The diver went off first and we gave it about a solid 10 count then the sideline went off. This happened at about 22 miles after we were wondering if we were going to see any bullets at all. The temp was about 63 degrees and the two fish were in the 25 pound class. It wasnt until 25 miles that we found a nice steady bite and we got 3 singles and our running mate got 4 singles in about an hour and a half all in a half mile area. The largest fish we weighed at the dock was 30. We ended up with 6 and our running mate with 5. The ocean seemed to be the same as it was last week with absolutely no wind on the beach and gradually increasing as you went out. At 25 miles it was 2 to 3 foot whitecaps but no swell. Hard to run against it but really manageable. Can't wait to get some good reports out of Depoe so we don't have to drive so far.
