Don’t know what to tell you, but there is some confusion out there so its good that you brought it up. I believe we’ve spoken a few times this last month or so out on the water, or at least I’ve heard you out there several times (that’s at least half a conversation, isn’t it  ), yet I can’t put a face to your name and don’t if I’d would recognize your boat.
I also I knew there is a charter boat named “Tacklebuster” running out of one of the local ports, didn’t really think that was you though after reading your many good posts. Then yesterday I run out to Tuna Town to play with the Dogs and find myself tacking back and forth with the “other” Tacklebuster. One of my crew says “ain’t we heard him on the radio before, I’ve never heard a charter boat giving up so much information.” Then I did a double take and had to think for a while, but for a moment thought you two were one in the same.

Moments later we hooked up, then JT did too, and I no longer cared if there were two or even three Tacklebusters around at the time.

JT, by the way, was a pleasure to fish with along with as well as the rest of the ifish group.
It’s your call on whether or not to change your moniker, I’ve now got it all figured out and doubt you’ll be stepping on anyone else’s toes. Just a thought, but “Tacklebuster II” might work, at least for a call sign and/or moniker. I’m still having trouble about changing the boat name on account that there’s another one out there, I’d bet there’s at least a dozen boats with that name.
I’ve heard a few stories about changing the name of your boat, but personally had to dispel them as wives tales – when I got her it had an absolutely stupid name. If you’re ever hailing assistance from 40-50 miles or more off shore (or any time you’re really in need of help) the last thing you need is confusion about the name of your vessel. Suffice it to say, shortly after getting my boat a few years back, I was in one of those situations. Through all the garble and static, I knew I heard the CG say “KC’s Last Toy IV (or whatever your stupid name is), this is Coast Guard North Bend Group relaying messages from Coast Guard Station Yaquina Bay, repeat your location skipper, and when you get back to port try and think of a new name for your boat.” The next week "Badger" was born.
