Re: Any Irish Reports
Went with Ken recently. We had to go 61 miles out, but we got 25 fish on a day when the other boats weren't doing well. The water temp keeps rising, so you should be in good shape for a real tuna slaying.

Re: Any Irish Reports
Uhhhhh, if he was telling you that monday was flat conditions I'd have to dispute that, and question what he was saying. I was out there on monday and it was anything but flat. As for his saying he got 40?

Re: Any Irish Reports
I have to agree with Nancy. I went out about 36 miles on Monday and got
my butt kicked. It was no fun out there with wind waves breaking off the
starboard bow, going over the wheel house and flooding the back deck!! Yuck!

Re: Any Irish Reports
Hey SeaRaptor, didn't you go out last Sunday, and came back with 25 for the boat? Why is Ken saying 48 fish?
He is still the best captain around, but his memory might be fading a little...

Re: Any Irish Reports
 A quick response to the Ken's report for Sun. & Mon. I know for a fact on the scores and as far as the ocean went I know for a fact he wasn't ANYWHERE near you Depoe Bay boats and the weather was as said. I've known that Irishman for lots 'o years and perhaps know his word, each and every time. Sorry on the "slam" routine nice try....Chillyone

Re: Any Irish Reports
Chilly, didn't mean to slam you, but I was on the Irish on Sunday out of Newport and can confirm we only got 25 fish. Maybe Ken's memory is slipping, but he still knows how to catch fish.

Re: Any Irish Reports
Yes, I went out Sunday, so I can report for a fact that the Irish did not get 48 fish. 25 was a very good number that day. I kind of doubt that Ken would need to embellish. He is a proven fish catching captain.
Also, as you know from our salmon trip on Monday, there is no way someone would describe the conditions as calm that afternoon. I was glad to limit early and get off the water before that wind picked up. A 12 hour tuna charter does not have that luxury.

ChillyOne:
No slam intended ... Just doubting the veracity of a report of a flat ocean
on Monday. Ken wasn't *that* far from where I was fishing and I know for a
fact that the ocean was NOT nice! Please don't get me wrong. I have every
respect for Ken and his ability to catch TUNA! I have had the pleasure of
fishing near/with him on many occasions and talked to him on the radio MANY
times. He is a true gentleman!

Re: Any Irish Reports
South Beach, Mike Morgan on White Swan III, docks right front of Rogue Ails. I believe he's $1.75/lb but he always has had good quality fish from all I've seen and got from him in years past. (Before I was a true tunaholic myself).
