Going out with Captain Rich Oba from Winchester Bay on Monday. Sounds like it could be a nice day on the South Coast to chase the longfin.

Lepper... Got to Coos Bay this am and the GPS quit, so I figured I wouldn't be able to hit the halibut hole. We ran out after tuna instead, 270 degrees, and put 13 in the boat. Even made it back in with out the plastic jesus. The only scary part was when the "Hospital ship Mercy" called out its cordinates and requested all boats to stay clear, at least 2 miles for small arms fire. We were looking for that ship!

How far out did you have to go for those?? and did you happen to see that nice form of warm water off port orford??????? only around 7-8 miles out to 61-62 degree water from my guest aments.. Going to attempt a serious tuna run.. Stripping everything out of the boat except 2 seats and tuna gear. loading with ice and heading out..

Lepper... We were apprx 22-26 miles out. Just guessing because the speedo on the boat isn't very accurate, so I was judging more by rpm/time. Have fun chasing TUNA!
