Ever heard of the boat the 'Puffin'? The original salty dog and a fishing machine. Try following that guy around for just one day.

Pilar hit it right on the nose. Boats don't catch fish...it's the jerk on one end, waiting for the jerk on the other end that makes things happen. The boat just dictates how comfortable the jerk is. My impression of the EdWing boats is...this jerk would be very comfy...

Halibut, Salmon, Sturgeon, Tuna, Ling Cod, Sea Bass, etc. My tag gets many of each every year. IMNSHO, "Puffin" is one of the 5% of all fisher people who catch 95% of the fish.

The addition of an Ed Wing boat a couple of years ago has greatly increased his catch.

Peace, Tom

Seem to. But you have to wear the proper attire.

That was Tuesday out of Newport. Look at how flat that ocean was. Did anybody go out Wednesday? Totally different water. What a difference a day makes.

I was in front of Puffin at O dark thirty Saturday morning at the ramp at Newport. Looked like he was heading for Tuna with that big rubber box strapped to his ride. I was gonna introduce myself but he looked like he was a little grumpy waiting for us to launch so he could get it the water. Good looking boat and with that big Honda on the back I'm sure it hauls the mail as well.

There were two leaks, one around the washdown pipe that goes through the hull and the other in the outboard bracket. The bracket was filling up with water and really pulling the stern down. The other was letting water into the stern compartment. Both were bad news.

Ed was appropriately embarrassed and upset with himself that he let me take it without putting it in the water first. We made the decision (both of us agreed) because the tide was completely out at Chinook when I picked up the boat, and I didn't want to take a chance on dinging the prop in a low water situation. Penny wise and pound foolish.

He fixed the problems and even pulled the fuel tank to clean up any water that might have gotten in that compartment as well. They didn't hesitate to move us to the head of the list, and got it fixed pronto.

BTW, it made a different boat out of it. With that weight gone, it handled MUCH better, jumped up on plane faster and rode much nicer in the water. We were very pleased.

I now have an automatic bilge pump installed.
