BLACK ROCKET limits on Butt and Salmon (pic)

What a great day! We blew out of Newport about 5:45AM this morning for the chicken ranch. And once again the only other boat out there was the Black Tornado. We banged our 4 Halibuts and went strait for the North end of the Rock pile and there were boats everywhere. I thought I was back at the "ranch". But we dropped in lines and whacked a quick nooker and 7 cohos to follow and they were the "fatty" of the bunch. Check them out

The ocean smoothed out at it was 45mph back to Newport! Great trip and a great Crew! Thank guys! Hope to see you again on the ROCKET!

Well it is the day after and believe me I am one sore dude. Lots of cranking in that deep water for them flatties [img]graemlins/eek13.gif[/img] That boat is one fast moving machine. The ride out was a little bumpy due to the ocean and those rev limiting jumps over the swells

. We worked pretty hard for the halibut's then the salmon were all over us right away, or at least some of us

eh Rawb :grin: . I put my stealthy act like I am sleeping approach

on them salmon and they kept trying to wake me up, but they found out that I was NOT sleeping after all! Rob just couldn't get bit so I held the rod for him after I limited just to get him a bite, and what do you know it worked, but it was a nate so back in the drink it went. He finally got into some action but it was looking grim for a while there.

For those of you wanting to go with the Captain and crew be ready for the ride of your life and be sure to pack some Motrin for after the ride and them sore muscles. Great day and great company, thanks Captain and Lynn. Oh and thanks to my buddies for having the courage to try something new.

I am really feeling some sympathy for that poor ling laying on the deck. All the salmon and halibut are sexy enough to get hoisted for a picture, but ugly ol bigmouth has to lay on the dock. No wonder he ain't smiling.

Snapset, That ling was left out as all the hands were full. Just what were they to hold it up with?

Looks like the trip was lots of fun and the fishing was not bad either.

We put the hurt the hurt on those bootom fish. That was one big Greenling. RAW got a couple dandy blacks also. Im headed back over there one night this week. This time its C&R.
