Default Nikon Prostaff

I just purchased a Nikon Prostaff to go on my 25.06? Anyone have any good or bad things to say about these scopes? I am curious, as I have yet to receive it.

Quite good bang for the buck.

Good scopes, good price

I have a 3-9x Buckmaster on my 243 and a 4 1/2-14x Buckmaster on my 6.5-06. Guarenteed forever no matter who owns the scope! Have had no trouble with either. Target turrets on the 4 1/2-14x and have cranked them up to use dead on holds at 300, 400 and 500yds and they return to zero every time.

No complaints, I'm impressed!

I have two Buckmasters and love them both equally.

I beat the crap out of one a few years ago hunting predators. It lasted, and I was impressed to say the least. I didnt think it would hold up like it did, but nikon hasa come a long way!

Put one on my sons 7mm-08 this year and was concerned about the elavation and windage adjustments. They didn't seem to have the solid click that I was used to in all the scopes I have owned prior. I bought it online and have'nt had the chance to compare it with another Nikon prostaff.

After having my son sight in the gun, I was concerned with the loose groups and was thinking that those adjustments might be moving on the recoil? I had already been rattling dozens of rounds though the other rifles and said "that's enough for today".

Took it out a couple weeks later, double checked the mounts, adjustments and had a much better group. Could have been fatigue before? Set the kid loose during deer season and he did kill his deer with one well placed shot. So, after all that stressing it did do the job.

Had a chance the other day to compare it to a Bushnell elite and in my opinion it did gather light better and had better clarity at dusk.

I still need to see if there is an issue with the adjustments compared to other Prostaffs. But, outside of that it seemed to be a good unit for the price.

Thanks for all the replies. We will be sighting it in tomorrow or sunday. I am putting it on a 25.06 for an upcoming doe hunt for my wife. She will shoot it in the next few days, and I will let you know how the elevation and windage adjustmants go. Thanks again.
