Wow - Dorado off Northern CA
This copied from Bay Area Tuna Club in California. Interesting!!

Here is my post copied in from Allcoast Sportfishing website. Lets get 'em boys!
I am not lying, and I will admit I am playing hookie from work tomorrow. I cant believe it! I dont want to say el nino, but this is NOT normal for northern California.
There were quite a few DORADO brought in today at Fort Bragg (California). Fort Bragg is in northern California, north of Point Arena, south of Cape Mendocino.
My friend is a CDFG biologist that stands at the docks all day interviewing salmon fisherman, collecting heads of tagged fish. There was only one salmon brought into port today, but there were hundreds of albacore and several dorado. On my way home from work, I stopped for some brews at the gas station, where there was a boat who caught 37 albacore and 2 dorado (a little excessive on the tuna for 3 guys), but what a report (they were fishing 24 miles out, on top of the "dome" otherwise known as Viscaino Knoll). I saw the dorado with my own eyes...both about 8 pounds. My neighbor is a commercial fisherman, who stopped by my house last night to tell me he caught a 4-foot long dorado that day (my neighbor exaggerates, he's about a 50% truth teller most times). BUt, its confirmed by multiple sources, dorado are being caught out here!
CHeck out the Terrafin SST for this area; 68-70 degree water 25 miles out, 61 degree water on the beach (usually its about 53 on the beach), the weather is flat, and I will post my reports for the weekend.
