Online tag sales!!!
Maybe i missed it but the website is finally up although not working yet we are getting close to not having to leave the house to buy licenses and tags, although it looks like faxing in your application will save you $2 processing fee.
There are three delivery options for licensing documents: instant, temporary and postal. Delivery depends on what you buy. - Instant delivery lets you print and use the document immediately.
- Temporary delivery allows you to print and use a temporary document to hunt or fish. Your permanent document will be shipped within 10 days.
- Postal delivery allows you to print a receipt only. It cannot be used to fish or hunt. The document you purchased will be shipped within 10 days.

Re: Online tag sales!!!
So if you get the Instant Delivery, Go shoot a Cougar in the pouring down rain. Get checked.. digging in your pack, to find white Goo.. do you still get a ticket?
Sounds like the Postal delivery is the best safe route for a REAL copy that will hold up to Weather.
Just a thought..
I Will buy new Lic & tag Via online, will save me Gas money.

Re: Online tag sales!!!
Yea I can't wait for that to get up and running . Especially since I happen to live out of state for the time being.

whats the differance if you print a tag at home on regular paper or if they send you a tag that will not hold ink. Neither one will hold up without modifying them.
I finally started getting the laminating paper and laminating my ODFW documents and tags so they dont do the old disappearing ink trick. I can do the same from my printed ones at home and like was said, save a trip and gas. I think its a great option.

We prepare to keep ourselves warm and dry.
We prepare to keep ourselves hydrated and nourished.
We prepare to prevent getting lost.
We prepare to harvest and care for our animals.
It's not too difficult to prepare to keep our vital paperwork dry. A zip-lock or two works great to keep all the important papers dry - including licenses and tags, as well as the Charmin type. Just don't get them mixed up in the dark. Explain THAT one to the game warden.

Another option is to purchase some "Write in the Rain" paper. It's not waterproof for scuba diving or anything, but it holds up very well to moisture. It gets wet after a full day in water.
We've had the ability to purchase online in Alaska for several years now and I've printed my tags and permits on write in the rain since the beginning.

Re: Online tag sales!!!
Maybe I've just been lucky. I've not had any problems with the "new" paper ODFW is printing tags on. My pack got really wet in elk season too. I've been too thick headed to stop using the plastic tag holder too.
Have you guys had problems with the new paper?
An online tag sale system has its ups and downs in my opinion.

Re: Online tag sales!!!
I just hope they are a bit better than Washington on their delivery. There, within 10 days means that they will print and mail your license exactly 10 days after you order it, getting it to you a week after it expires every time. At least that is the way it works for me with non-res fishing licenses. Phone calls don't help either.
I sure hope OR can do better than that!
