Yesterday, Friday's forecast was 5+6, Saturday's was 3+5, now they're 3+4 and 3+3. Seems to be getting better and better as we get closer to the weekend.

Its about time to start packing the truck and heading west if you ask me.

Windshield model. I was wondering because the wind direction is South, and I don't have a lot of experience with wind from this direction. Seems as though I saw where a Northern Swell and a Southern Wind chop made things rough. This forecast shows a South-Westerly Swell and a Southernly Wind Chop.

The low pressure system is just sitting almost stationary, moving slowly north x northeast, something like ~400 nm off of Oregon. With the normal counter-clockwise rotation (northern hemisphere), and with a boost from the relatively higher pressure over California (remember - high blows to low?), we get this forecast southeasterly winds. This SE will not have much fetch to it at all near the coast, hence the low chop. A land breeze is nearly always a good thing for calm water near shore (although this isn't exactly a land breeze; kind of half & half).

Maybe have a back up plan just in case you can't make it out that far. Nothing is better than a look see though.

I had pretty much written off getting outside, & was not real excited about the river yet, looks good to go now. We had a South wind on Sat Jul 12th & it got nasty off Garibaldi, but we had bigger swell & higher winds that day than what is called for now.

WOW! What a turn around from the forecast yesterday. Looks more like Oceanblue's forecast. Definitely calling in sick tomorrow - seasick that is!

"Ahhhh hello boss? I'm feelin a little queasy this morning and... What's that you say? Boat motor running in the background? No, thats the ahhh... air conditioner... yeah thats it, and it needs some work... What's that? No, nobody said 'fish on'... Did they? Gotta go boss! GOTTA GO!"

See you Monday you suckers!

Rod, yea I've used a similar one before....what is the time duration projection on that one..I see the date change by one day in the corner... is it 24 or 48 hours?

The same site that my link above is from has the 48 & 96 hr projections, and it does show that low pressure system creeping north. But it's just a projection, and if any of the competing fronts misbehave, it could change real quick.
