Default Garabaldi Bottom fishing

Does any one know where to get bottom fish around the Garabaldi area? Any help would be most apreciated. Thanks in advance.

Smily,

Anywhere near Three Arch Rocks which is about 7 miles south of the jetty tips. I don't usually use GPS numbers because there is lots of structure all over that area. Just watch your finder and when you notice that you've gone from sand to rock bottom, drop the lines.

Good luck.

Hi Corrirod,
We have hit that area with no luck other that some small lings. We fished in water from 50-90ft deep. Is that about right?

Go out farther Smily. There's a reef that runs WSW of the outer rock that goes quite a ways out. My son and I have done real well anywhere along there. Don't know the distance for sure, but am guessing a good mile from the outer rock. That reef falls off a good 30 feet on the south side, and then the bottom gets gradually deeper. As long as it's rocky, it'll hold lings. There's usually a group of boats drifting the area. Send me an e-mail if you want more. I don't have the exact numbers here, but the area is good all over, even out to 180+ feet. Put in some time and you'll find your own spots.

Sorry Smily,

Son of Okie is right on. You need to go a little deeper. I fish in 160-190 ft. with the majority being in 175 ft. of water. You'll want to be about 1 mile out from the rocks, west to slightly southwest.

I might be over there this weekend if the ocean lays down enough. I'm taking a couple of ifishers I've never met before. Thinking we'll go for salmon early and maybe try for some bottoms if the opportunity arises.

Corrirod,
The Skipper and I will also be out there. Will you be monitoring the radio while out there? Maybe we can connect out there. IT seems we have the same game plan. Hoping to get fish early and then to ifishstock.
