Default Halibut Season

So, it looks like Friday may be a bust with the small craft warning being issued.

Does anyone know how the catches were last weekend? Is it published anywhere? Do they expect that if this weekend is rough, to have another season later?

Thanks,

Rip'N'Lips

Catch will be published here - http://hmsc.oregonstate.edu/odfw/fin...catch2003.html , but has not yet been updated from the weekend. Aug 22/23 are the last possible open days if pounds remain, and I believe we will be fishing on these days.

So has anyone heard preliminary numbers from the weekend? I assume we are done, but was wondering if there is still a chance for 1 more fishery...

From what I heard about and saw out of Charleston, the catch wasn't too good. Heard of one 70 lb fish on Saturday, that's the only big fish we heard about both days. I would think there will be a day or two more.

According to my sources (the very helpful Don Bodenmiller) we should know by Friday if all-depth halibut will re-open 8/22 & 8/23.
