Default Westport tuna report 8/5

Ran SW out of Westport today with a scoop and a half of beautiful 'chovies. Forecast was 4' @ 15secs. At 30NM it was 58.7 and green. At 37NM it was more like 5'-6' @7secs with 18-20knots pushing it. Water was 59.5 and green. No need to venture further.

Trip aborted.

I'm not going out until I see a current SST or have some numbers from a recent catch... and the wx forecast cooperates.

Cross your fingers.

They're getting closer to shore again along the Oregon coast this week. Keep your fingers crossed.

And we're blowing as hard as we can to move the warm water further north, you should see it in a few days if it works.
