Default WP and Marty score Tuna Depoe 8-5-03

Will fill you in a bit later but they both scored and I believe they were 32-24 miles out and WP got a late start (waited around for a no-show.

Finally tally was somewher's aroun 13 or so for WP and 30+ for Marty.

Got to go deliver some fish and I'm wiped out.

Maybe WP will reply and I am headed down to give Marty Pilar's phone# (if he is still awake).

Somebody will post more later.

WP donated a tuna for the ifishstock.

Got to go and see I need to edit when I get back.
See if Marty has something to post.

Mark MC,

Sorry Mark, I just got back. Saw Marty on my way to delivering fish and he was putting gas in his boat and said he was three cans (gas) from hitting the sack. I'm eating lunch as I type.

He was way too tired to write anything for me to post but told me they actually caught 25 longfins and not 30.

32-34 miles out was correct and at a 260 degree heading out of Depoe.

Marty also asked me to tell his apreciation of AlbacoreTunaCaptain (Blitz) and that he put them on the fish by giving them the numbers otherwise Marty said they would have probably been scratch fishing. Good job Mike!

Marty will be out there again tomorrow and possibly the next day also.

WP will be out there tomorrow and the way he was talking probably Thurs.-Sat. or Sunday also.

I will try and get up again and greet some of the ifisher's again tomorrow at 5:00am. If anyone has any messages for any of the ifisher's just post it or email me and I will give it to the appropiate person early in the am.

If you have any questions, shoot. Maybe I spaced something.

Bottom fishing was hot today and apparently salmon fishing was also (I cut enough of them for the charters).

The commercials killed the chinook again today. Either today or yesterday Mark (Fish Asassin) caught 30 if I remember right and one of the local commercials went out at noon today and caught 30 chinook.

I'm going to finish lunch but I will be around the PC and up for quite a bit.

Dan

Dan,

Last day I fished was Monday and I only got 22 chinook, not 30. Oh,
sooooo close!

Just a clarification.

Good to hear that they're moving back within range again. I may have to make a trip out around monday or so. With the looks of the current forcast, they should be much closer by then even, but that's the soonest I'll have time now to do it.

This is much better news. I heading out with a group on Saturday for tuna (as long as the blasted wind does'nt blow us off). I appreciate the report Dan. I was beginning to wonder if it was even going to be worth the trip.

Well Mark I had the day right. Yesterday from when I posted would have been Monday.

And I just rounded off 22 to 30.

Depoe Bay math! Now if you could only get Frank to buy that one.

Lack of sleep and lots of fishermen and lots of numbers was the problem.

Steve on the JimBob did get 30 after leaving at noon though. Let you know how he does today.

I'm starting a new thread for todays tunaholic's with pic's from this morning of some.

UG & Wild Hawg, WP & ?, Marty & ?, Pilar & Puffin. The filet station will never look the same!

DepoeBayDan,
good update on the Tuna where abouts!
With some luck we will make another trip out and collect another share of Tuna to put in the little jars.
Thanks for the report.
