Default Tomorrow's Ocean conditions and nasty rumour

What do you guys think bout tomorrow's predicted conditions. South wind and very mild south swell at 16 seconds apart. I am new to this ocean stuff and am wondering if this prediction means very flat ocean I remember the last time it was a south wind and a very mild swell at 12 seconds apart it was like a washing machine out there and very miserable in my boat.

I also heard that Friday is the last day for coho out of Newport. Anyone else heard this nasty rumor? How has the salmon fishing been and how far out does one expect to go to get into them. I have been fishing the spark plug the past couple of days and have been out of the loop.

Default Re: Tomorrow's Ocean conditions and nasty rumour

The rumour is only a rumour. There is no date forecast to the end of the coho season (other than August 24). That is not to say that it couldn't end before then, but we are currently at 66.4% of the quota SOF Selective Landings and only took about 7% of the quota this past week. The biggest catch week so far this season resulted in about 17% of the quota being taken. There is a fairly good chance that the season will last all the way to August 24, but that depends on the fish, the fishermen, and the weather.
