Default Looking for a place to shoot/sight in...

Hey-

Just wondering if anyone can give me any leads of where to go. I am in the Forest Grove area. We are looking for some where with a 100 yd range to do some rifle shooting. This is more of looking for a long term area to use- not because elk season is right around the corner. Although, we are going to Wyoming later in the month and we would not mind a little more shooting time. We have always gone up in the hills and we would rather find somewhere else if possible that is actually meant for shooting. I am not familiar with ranges in the area other than tri-county and I would like to find somewhere a little less expensive that would be available all year round. (wishfull thinking) I would be willing to pay something for a private facility, we are extremely safe and respectful. Does anyone know how to contact the range that is out in McMinnville and is it even still there? Thanks for any info at all.

The range in mcminnville is still there. I know it floods in the winter months since it is next to a river. Can shoot up to 200 yards there also and it is only about $60 a year for a membership i think. Hope this helps.

Contact the Forest Service in Forest Grove. They had a quarry open at Brown's Camp but, that has become a active quarry since they a logging that area again. I'm sure they have an alternative place to shoot. I just haven't had the time to run over there to find out any info. In the past if you let them know when your shooting, they have been more then willing to stop buy and pick up any garbage you bag up from the not so responsible citizens out in our forest.
If you don't mind let me know what you find out. Brown's Camp was convenient and had the distance your looking for.

I used to be a member there but never renewed my membership. It is a great sight in range for being small and they are very friendly. I also took my hunter safety course there so it is used when not flooded.
