John and I took the kids out to get them salty on Saturday. The ocean wasn't as nice as we'd hoped, but the kids toughed it out. Pilar taught my son how to drive the boat. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any pics of him because it was just too rough. And, well, the rest of the time... let's just say we probably wouldn't want to capture those memories.
Despite being about as

as one can get, they remained in relatively good humor. After losing breakfast and moving on to dry heaves, my son said, "Mom, I think I've got this down to a science: Sleep, wake up, puke, sleep, wake up, puke. It's easy."
To which my daughter replied, "I like to do it this way: Catch a fish, puke, catch a fish, puke." After she landed her first chinook and her first halibut, her second chinook managed to break off by going under the boat and wrapping around the outdrive. A little while later, I hollered for her to grab the pole. She picked it up and said in a weak voice, "Mom, I just can't. I'm done." She was so disappointed. I knew we were done at that point. The kids toughed it out like champs, but the rockpile was getting downright snotty and even **** and I were uncomfortable. We headed in.
All in all a good day. Very exciting with 4 species in the boat and a few that we couldn't keep released.
Here's some pics of the adventure.
Does she look a little green?
Hurry mom, it's slipping!
I'm so proud of my king (he's just my size at 18lbs)
John's 28lb king
Great big thanks to John for taking us out (and leaving the bite to take us back in when it was time to go)
Huge thanks to Blubeast (again) for the killer bait and the wonderful hospitality!
