Hey Skein: Edwing Delivery and Launch (pics)
Welp, I have good news and bad news:
The glass guys messed up the side windows so they have to do them over! That is my brother and chief mechanic, Randy checking out the flow through ventilation.
Here she is with the hose hooked up, firing off the engine for the first time. Started right up and runs beautifully (quiet!).
The boat is considerably bigger than it looked in the shop. We taped her at 23'7" from the nose to the transom (not counting the anchor system or the swimstep).
And here we are at Kalama for the first launch (try to ignore the $8,000,000 skow in the background).
We ran from Kalama to the I-5 bridge and back including around Sauvi Island total of about 35 miles and 5 hours. We were slow because we were breaking in the engine according to the manual. it was a great night for a boatride. Back to Kalama at 12:30am. The whole ride back was against the wind into whitecaps.
Today we worked on the finish and cleaning up some wiring issues. I think I am going to mound an air compressor so we can adjust the pressure in the seats while underway (and run an airhorn).
Still waiting on the kicker motor.

8' Beam. Still a lot of kinks to work out. May try to fish her Wednesday out of Depoe Bay or Newport.

Re: Hey Skein: Edwing Delivery and Launch (pics)
I was lucky enough to witness the launch I just happened to be coming in when Crabbait was preparing to launch. It was nice meeting you Crabbait. I recognized the boat from the pics he posted here. It looks real nice and does look bigger in person. The boat rides real level. It that the Suzuki 140hp?

Re: Hey Skein: Edwing Delivery and Launch (pics)
Congratulations!! Very nice. Really like how it looks on the water, level, with lots of boat sitting out of the water, looks very fishy.
Does anyone have a sure can't miss method (legally) to instantly pocket 40k?
Enjoy your new best friend,
Gregg

She's a lot better looking than I thought she would be. If she runs out as good as she looks, you have a winner.

Yes. Yes..... A fine craft that'is boys. Fine indeed... The bonny boat "Sculpin!" May she bring everyone abord back safely with the plentiful bounty that the beloved sea provides.
Looking good lads.
I must say that the addition of the rub-rail is one that Ed should make standard. It just brings everything together nicely.

Nice boat Steve. Congrats on your new baby. She will provide many years of enjoyment. I see tuna in her future. Better break he in on salmon first. Got to get that fishy smell going.

I saw CB's boat today when they were putting the windows in, VERY nice. The pictures don't do it justice. A little fish blood and it will be perfect.

Big Congrats. Don't forget good karma and release your first keeper fish, wash it down in holy water, cut an inch off the exhaust pipe, and then stink it up good.

Re: Hey Skein: Edwing Delivery and Launch (pics)
Thanks for all the good words, guys. I have been a very busy boy getting ready for Friday/Saturday.
She is not the fastest thing on the water and we are still not sure if the prop pitch is right. Had her out for 5 hours Saturday night (breakin) 1 hr at 3000rpm, two hours at 4000rpm, 2 hrs at 4000-4500rpm downstream against a 20 knot wind, whitecaps everywhere, in the dark. Averaged 5gal per hour.
Will know more tomorrow and will post a pic with the windows in.
Yes, she will be at ifishstock. Wish I could get a picture next to a "standard" size sled for so you could get a better idea of size. Maybe I will get a shot with the truck. BIGGER than I thought. Trailers very nice.
Talked to Ed today about adding the Suzuki's twin sister next spring. She may not need it but it would really look cool and scoot to boot.

Nice Boat Crabbait,
Great choice of motors.
I have a 2000 Suzuki DF70 on a 19' Harbercraft, and everyone comments on how quite it runs. I'm loving the fuel economy the most, and not to mention the reliability.
Hope to see it at Ifishstock.

Re: Hey Skein: Edwing Delivery and Launch (pics)
Okay, one more picture.
I just got mine home last night, and it's AWESOME! I am more than pleased.
I'm taking it out to the lake today for some break-in time, and it ought to be fun motoring around with the runabouts and kokanie fishermen. Ha!
The pic shows my Explorer right beside it for a size comparison. It's bigger than I imagined - has the look and feel of a much bigger boat. When you see it you will know what I mean.
Well, gotta go. Got jewelry to hang.

Nice boat, Jim. Looks sorta familiar.
May be going out of Depoe Bay Saturday if the forecast holds. Ya in? It would be too cool to break them in in the salt together.
