SLUG FEST on the BLACK ROCKET (pic)

Boy what kinda of day what this! We left promptly by 5 something out of Depoe Bay. Got out to the Red Can and relized Dolphinlyn and myself forgot our sea sick meds, so we made a u-turn and back out we went, straight to the "ranch" , but unlike yesterday, fish weren't as friendly to us. Dolphinlyn was not feeling good and decided to leave early and hitched a ride back to Newport on the BLACK TORNADO. Well their went the "best gaffer" on the planet, and one of the boys caught the monster! He gets it up to the boat and I put the harpoon DEEP into the fish and he goes for it. I get him to the boat, can't lift him in. My hands are full just holding on to the 1/4 inch rope. I'm thinking where's the gaffer?? [img]graemlins/idea.gif[/img] When the giant fish ripped through the 5 inch stainless steel rod. He was gone and I felt like crap [img]graemlins/stupid.gif[/img] I know they all looked at me [img]graemlins/stupid.gif[/img] . Then of course the next FISH ON, a measly 33 incher. Then on the way back in trolled for Salmon with 1 drive by. All in all GREAT DAY
