Does anyone know anything about an Abu Ambassadeur 7000 C4 LD Lever Drag Reel?

You won't like it. The drags kinda funny and the handle is too big. You should just give it to me.

The 7000 lever drags are good reels. For less than 150 bucks, it's tough to beat. Stay away from the Abu 6600LD though, that's a different story. If you can afford it though, I would look at the Penn 975LD for about 240 discounted price. Also if you can live without the level wind, you won't find a better reel for the money than the Avet reels. Nothing spins better, they are a work of art. They start at around 160 dollars.

I have a few of the 6600LD. I was wondering why you feel that they are not good. I love mine. Maybe I am missing something but I thought the 7000ld had the same drag washer in it also.

Hey, Keta:
Those are almost as smooth as the Calcutta 700 you used when we fished with Fishplay. I've rebuilt serveral of them and they are easy to work on and very reliable. Talk to you soon.
