Default 2008 bucks

Alright it starts off with me passing on 7 forkies the first two weeks I was hunting with a my buddy Homan his first year hunting. I was trying so hard to get him a buck that I missed my chances at some great bucks. I saw a nice 3point tryed to get him a shot and it didnt give him one there was a forky there but he passed on him he had made his mind up he was not gonna take anything smaller than a three point I respect that. So the next time we went out I spotted a monster it was foggie and thats all I saw was tall and wide rack tryed show my buddy and he was gone. At this point I was thinking the next buck I see Im gonna shoot so I get mine out of the way. Oct.21 we went out and didnt talk to each other we had been hunting the same spot sence the begining of the season and had there movements down walked in like normal and then homan walked away from me i look for him because i had a plan and didnt see him so I walk down to my normal spot sat down for about 10mins. Then crash crash look to my right and there it was he was on the run got ready he didnt look like he was gonna stop then at 35yards he just stopped got the crosshairs on him bang he took off watched him run and knew I had driiled him. Homan had walk the lower road walked up behind me and asked you get him with out saying a word to each other we had the same idea about the morning hunt and i got him he ran down in a hole took a hour and ahalf to drag him 250yards nice little 4x3. 1021081012.jpg (81.1 KB)

So now mines out of the way took another first time hunter out he had been out but had seen nothing so we went out walked in. Sat down glassed nothing we got up walked some more went to this spot where the group i hunted with last year took 7 bucks within 300yards of each other sat up then of course some lazy pile of crap drives in I am about ready to lblow up then they drive off I told Tyler lets give it 20mins then we will go . Hit my grunt then crack looked down I told him we got a buck get ready hes rite behind a doe. The buck and doe where moving fast told Tyler to get ready hit my grunt and perfect the buck just plants his feet at 200yard down hill and Tyler hammered him down it went. Oct.30th nice 3x3. 1030081126.jpg (135.3 KB)

Ok now for Homan he was getting so much crap at work for passing on forkies because he was a first time hunter. Well we scouted this area and knew there was no reason to settle for a forky. So we went out all week and finaly spotted a doe she was acting like she was waiting for something we sat waited she finaly starts up the off in the brush looked back and the buck was just moving to fast and Hamon made the rite chose didnt pull the trigger. The next day we go out we hike like normal even though my 4yearold son is with us hes a good kid. Walking through some taller reprod Homan says theres a buck I didnt see it grab my son and I took him back to the truck just about there bang my son about jumps out of my arms then says put me down lets go see. So he starts running to Homan who is jumping up and down like a schoolgirl and gave him a highfive. The deer was at 25yards when he hammered him. It was a great 3x3 Nov.6

Good for you on geting those first timers into bucks. And also for exposing that fine son of your to a great American past time at such an early age.
