Default E-10 Ethanol issues for boaters.

I put this like on the Fishing & Hunting page but it probably belongs here instead. This seemed like some good information on dealing with E-10.

Good info there. May head off some of the debate here.

I don't remember where I read about this, it might have been on a post here.
But I understand the next session of the Oregon legislature is going to get ethanol out of our gas, that they finally realized that it is more of a problem than was anticipated

The Republican caucus in the legislature published a letter before the election that they were going to work to repeal the ethanol mandate section of HB-2210 in the next legislative session which starts next February. However, repealing the mandate will change nothing, unless they also pass a law to prohibit the blending of ethanol into premium unleaded gasoline. The state was overtaken by a federal renewable fuel standard that passed late in 2007 called EISA 2007. In reality it is an E85 corporate welfare act but it is having the unintended consequence of taking all of the gasoline in the country E10. I have a web site that discusses the problems and will have information about the law that will be introduced in the next Oregan legislative session to repeal the ethanol mandates of HB-2210 and hopefully ban the blending of ethanol into premium unleaded gasoline so we have at least one source of fuel for boats and airplanes. Be advised that ethanol is now more expensive than gasoline so it is driving up the price of your fuel, while reducing your mileage. The web site is http://www.e0pc.com

Thanks for the info 3-db
Maybe if we start writing letters and phone calls to our state reps now by Feb they will have a clearer picture of the problems we are having
And we might get some good results, since they seem to be started in the right direction

I have already contacted my house rep and my senate rep, both Republicans to hold their feet to the fire. I would greatly appreciate some help from boat owners anywhere in the Northwest on the e0pc web site forum. I will be making a presentation tomorrow to the Oregon Pilots Association to enlist their support. I already have the support of the Idaho Aviation Association who are going to support legislation in Idaho. Looking for help from Montana. So far they have been very quiet but ethanol should be showing up in all their gasoline now too. I have heard that it has in the western half of the state.
