Default pflueger Trion reels

I was looking at the new pflueger trion reels and was thinking about buying one. has anyone fished with one?

I have some old reels that need retired so I was looking for something new to fish with the pflueger feels very sweet and is under $100

I figured somone on here may have bought one and be able to tell me if they are worth the money.

Spinning reels are great, but Abu Cardinals still better and cheaper, also have baitcaster, great reel, Abu Garcia still better for price.

I've been singing the praises of my Pflueger Solara since I got it last summer. Great little reel, cheap price or no cheap price. It handled a 25# Wilson nook with no problems and it casts like a dream. The Trions are a step up from the Solara and should be even better.

I say go for it!!

I've got one of the trions and I love it. I don't know that I would be willing to TARGET 30+# Chinook with it, but I wouldn't be afraid of getting one on either. It will handle any steelhead or silver you want to throw at it, and yes, even those COWlitz monsters.

Great reel, great buy

I had one and the drag didn't hold up very well fishing steelhead on the lewis after 3 weeks. had a couple buddies who had some problems too. It may just have been some ice issues inside the spool while we were fishing back in dec .
As far as casting it was flawless.

for another $19 fishermans delta marina has the shimano curado..Flawless casts and drags

I've only fished with my Trion twice and just for a short time. It's as smooth as can be and I love being able to get a good cast out of a baitcasting reel with light offerings (#4 Blue Fox, small plugs, etc.) I can't attest to the drag, I haven't even snagged with it yet. But it sure feels right so far.

I love mine! I tried my partners Curado BSF last weekend and I felt my Trion was just as good or better. It's smooth as silk and handles steelhead well.

Now the down side, I'm on my third one. The first one got a little rough and the second I felt the drag was loosing it's "smoothness".

I hope this one holds up because I sure like it.

Good luck with yours.

I bought my curado over 5 years ago. A couple hundred steelhead later it needs it's first overhaul. FWIW

I fished Pflueger Trions most of last summer, I used them 20 some days at bouy 10 in August pulling delta divers in the ripping current and they held up great. The drags are real smooth on big fish.

I have 2 trions and love them. I also have a curado which I love. The part are much better inside of a trion. Curados have alot of plastic in them
