Dallas area game processing?
I know Frontier Meats in Carlton is supposed to be a great place but I'd like to find someplace close to home that is trustworthy. I need to drop off a deer tonight or tomorrow.

Re: Dallas area game processing?
Fisher's in Canby has always done good for us. We do all our own cutting/wrapping but Fisher's does all our sausage/pepperoni. Their jalepino (sp) summer sausauge is fantastic.............

I've heard good things about Willamina Meats.

Since independence shut down, I take everything up the Gene's. His sausage is top notch.

I live 2 minutes from Frontier and would much rather make the drive to Gene's. His peperoni and teriyaki sticks are top notch. They make a mean salami too.

Another vote for Gene's in Mehama (not stayton) pepperoni at Vogets in Hubbard is great.

Yeah, Willamina or Airlie. Both close and do good work.

Re: Dallas area game processing?
I have used Mike at Willamina and Don at Airlie both this year. They both put out a Quality product, and are very close to you.

Don is a super nice guy, and his product is quality. I'm chomping on a bit of his spicy jerky as I type. His place is a riot to look around too...

Re: Dallas area game processing?
Thanks guys. I dropped it off at Airlie this afternoon. I was hoping they would get a vote of confidence here since they're the most convenient location to me. I was just looking for basic cut and wrap (I'll make my own jerky and sausage). I normally butcher my game myself but circumstances make it a headache this year.

Good choice. What'd you think of the layout of that place? His boardwalks and storefronts crack me up! Some nice pictures of deer on the walls in there...

What drives me nuts EVERY time about that place is the turkeys. They continually increase in numbers and the toms just keep getting bigger!
Of course, they rarely leave people's yards....

Then you should see the elk and deer that hang out there.

I had permission this past year to hunt the property adjacent to theirs and took my gobbler there.
