1st Season Silvies, how did you do??

So, the first season is over. Any Ifish brothers hunt the Silvies unit? How did you do?

I leave Thursday for the second season. Wish me luck!

Second hand information: friend of mine saw absolutely nothing (although I think he crossed paths with a few antelope). Then when he was glassing with above a little butte, a big old mule ran up right ontop of him. I don't recall why he didn't end up bringing it down but I think it surprised him a bit.

Your going to need lots of luck...hehe.....Im heading over also for 2nd season and Im sure we will have snow!

last time I had a tag I was the only one in about a 20 mile radiuos that got one according to ODFW.

My brother bow hunted there this year and saw tons of elk. You should do fine if you are in the right areas.

Just came back from Eastern Or. About 4" of snow on the top of 395 between Burns and John Day. A customer in Burns said first season was pretty quiet in the Silvies.

I heard reports from two groups and that was slow from one and great from another. One buddy hunted near Yellowjacket and between 5 guys only saw 5 elk, one of which was a spike and ended up going home with them. Other group saw more elk and last I heard they had killed a dandy 6 point.

I will be there for second season also, The report I got from familey on first season a couple bulls down but have not seen anything else! I hope with the season being later that maybe the big boys will start showing them selves, but will see. Also people still trespassing on the property, and messing up the hunts, even with signs posted.....

Did anyone else have any luck or have any reports they are willing to share? I am headed over for the Nov. 22nd opener of Cow season. I did a bit of scouting over there durning early bow season and saw a bit of sign and a few elk on the edge of the newer burn. I didn't want to push the elk around since bow hunters were in there trying to fill there tags.

Well how did you all do on the 2nd season??????....We only had one raghorn 4 Point out of 4 guys. Anyone during bow season loose a 6 point in the last year or 2???... I ran across about 4 dead elk.... the 6 point with the arrow...1 dead cow from first season man did that stink.... and 2 other elk that looked like they were also from first season...but boned in the field??
