It's true Tuna Fishing is addicting
That's it guys, I'm hooked.
It all started here on this board and reading about Tuna fishing. Then I went to a few meetings to see what kind of gear to use and meet some of the "Dogs".
There I went off buying gear and had never caught a tuna.
My next venture was out with Popeye and we landed 2 fish off handlines, then out with Robolo Bill and the catch went up to 12 fish (what a hall), my last trip was out with a friend we actually got some to hit on rod and reels (what a blast).
Long story short I'm HOOKED ON TUNA FISHING.

Re: It's true Tuna Fishing is addicting
Hooked on TUNA! ... That is just soooo funny. I've been fishing TUNA! for
around 12 years now, and *I'm* not hooked. No Sir! I don't get hooked on
such things! Oh, and did I tell you I really don't like to fish, either!
I only do it because my wife wants me out of the house! Yeah, that's the
ticket!!

Re: It's true Tuna Fishing is addicting
I take delivery of my new TUNA! boat next week, and I've never even caught one. I think it's the people I've been hanging around with. Bad, bad crowd.
That first fish is no doubt going to be a hoot - but expensive.
Something tells me it will be all worth it.

Re: It's true Tuna Fishing is addicting
mummmmummmummmummmmhhhhh.....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh...yum mmmmmmmmm. Sorry John if tuna on my chin is offending. I cannot help it. It is soooooooo gooooood!!!!!!
I have the sickness bad too. However, Cindy Lou is not ready for a run this year. Next year however, she is going dudes. A little retro-fitting this winter time, and a precautionary rebuild on the ol' outdrive (working perfectly but I would like it have a good once over), and possibly some new manifolds (now working great with the installation of new Access header plugs).
Next year, Cindy Lou will be introduced to Tuna Carnage Syndrom. For now, I have the salmon of the sea craving that Cindy Lou can get me to no questions asked.

Re: It's true Tuna Fishing is addicting
The worst part of the Addiction is when Sept and Oct roll around and you still find yourself staring at the SST saying "I know they're still there, I know they are" and it carries over to the next year. An addicts true nightmare "NO TUNA"

Re: It's true Tuna Fishing is addicting
KJ - that's exactly why we started the TA meetings. We thought that getting together and leaning on one another would help get us over the looooong off-season. Instead, what it did was create more of a frenzy. So, we gave up and decided that unlike AA, TA is really a group intended to enable.
Oh, man! I feel it coming on now... the need to bleed a tuna! The scream of the reel! The flopping of the fish! The flying ice cubes from the quench tank! Oh, the primal howling of the hunters!
(okay, okay, gotta calm down now. Breathe in, breathe out....)
