Need a Job?
Please read this through before posting!
This thread is for individuals who are looking for work. Please post your skills, the location you are available in and contact information. You might want to keep it to just Private Message contact as Internet bots are good at collecting phone numbers and e-mail addresses to sell to spammers.
Just list your skills and experience. Don't just say "I worked for XXXXXX for 10 years"'. List your exact skills and how much experience you have at them. This will help employers to see your actual attributes and will get a better response. Details of exactly who you have worked for can be exchanged with interested employers.
Posts will stay up for at least 4 weeks and then be deleted to keep potential employers from having to wade through obsolete data. If you are still in need of a job, please feel free to re-post your availability.
Please understand that this is not intended for self-employed people. That would cross too far into our sponsor area. While we understand that self-employed people need jobs too, at this point we have chosen to draw the line at employment with an outside employer.
Good luck with your search and we all hope it is a short one.

3) Fluent in many platforms including Siemens, Rockwell, Modicon, Wonderware, RMC, legacy systems and others too numerous to list.

Re: Need a Job?
I'm looking to build some websites to beef up my portfolio. My current position is being eliminated at the end of August. I do have a degree in web design, but haven't built too many sites as I've had a good job. So before I go searching for an actual web design position, I need to have more sample items.
So if you, or someone you know, needs a website built please let me know. I'm open for ideas as payment, possibly a trade or something. I'm not looking to make out like a bandit, I really just need some more experience.
Thanks for looking!

Re: Need a Job?
I'm a 20 year old male currently in search of a summer job. I will be finishing up my Associates Degree (General Ed) after this next term.
I'm not too picky as far as work goes. I've primarily worked at restaurants, but I am definitely interested in exploring other areas. An outside job is acceptable too as I love the outdoors.
Mostly looking for 10-30hrs per week.
PM with questions/concerns, etc...
Thanks!

Re: Need a Job?
My 17 year old son (6'1", 200 pounds) is a very polite and hard working young man with a dependable car and is an excellent driver. He is also very reliable and conscientious.
He has worked on a farm and spent last summer in a wood mill so he is not a stranger to work.
He would be very happy to work anywhere around Salem. He also has hardworking friends who are working hard at finding summer work so if you have a big project, he can get you a crew.
PM if you have something and thanks.

Re: Need a Job?
Looking for part-time work near Newberg. I'm a stay-at-home mom right now, but I need to get out of the house a little bit every week. I'd ideally like 10-15 hours per week. I have customer service experience and my career before staying at home with the kiddos was fish biology. I'm willing to do pretty much any type of work that allows me a flexible enough schedule to not have to pay for daycare. Please PM me if you know of anything that might work for me! Thanks!!

Re: Need a Job?
I feel very lucky, I had a first date yesterday with a very nice lady. How cool is that! While I am very new to the ifish network, I am a regular visitor now. This woman is an ifish natural, grew up fishing with a passion. She has been a real estate agent for the last 17 years and is finding things extremely tough in this market. She is looking for full or part time, temporary or permanent opportunities. I want to see if there is anything I can do to help her. She has a degree in Criminology, was one of the first female Oregon State Troopers. In a wonderful, full day of fishing, I can see she is a very capable and honest lady, with good values and integrity. I am sure she would be an asset to your company or business. If you have a need for, or know of someone who might be looking to hire a quality person with many talents, please message me and I will see that she gets the info. Plus it might help me in my objective. I could quickly see she is a keeper for sure. In any event I want to help her out if I can. By the way, we fished Green Peter, my second time, we got 5 nice kokes, had a great day, and will share a fish dinner later. Thanks, Gary

Re: Need a Job?
Recent college graduate looking for a job. Received a bachelors in Business and Mass Communication from Arizona State University December 2008. After graduating I have been working part time while looking for career opportunities.
I have experience working as a camp hand for two of the most reputable camps on the Nushagak River. While in college I managed a retail shoe store in Tempe, Arizona. Since graduating I worked in an auto parts warehouse and during the tax season I helped in a accounting firm with tax assembly. The last few months I have been selling on craigslist. I have sold outboard motors, boats, cars and much more.
All of my previous employers can attest for the motivation I have to work. I am a dedicated person who is looking for a job that can hopefully lead into a career. If you have a position you are looking to fill or know of one please let me know.

Re: Need a Job?
I'm looking for a place that can offer a job that is more like a career opportunity. I have an excellent work history, strong references and my experience has been in Quality, Sales, Logistics and Accounts Management. I have implemented and developed quality systems, authored process documents and been involved with ISO auditing. I have sold both as an inside and outside representative to businesses throughout the country but primarily here in the NW, I am versed in most MS Office applications and always come to work ready to perform. I have no physical limitations that prevent me from performing non-office related functions. I also have experience with industrial machine operations, assembly and material handling. After 11 years with my last employer I was released due to economic constraints on the business. I have letters of recommendations available from both the president and vice president of the company and a good reputation among past customers. If you have a position available or know of one that might be a good fit please do not hesitate to notify me.
Thank you!

If you would like a formal resume with previous employers and such or to talk about a possible job opportunity please email or call me anytime. If I don't answer right away leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for looking!

Re: Need a Job?
My name is Joe. I'm 34, Divorced with no kids. I will fish 365 days a year if I could. I have 24 years expeirence fishing for salmon and steelhead all over the state of Washington. I am a Mechanical Insulator by trade. I also play in a rock band, Metal band, punk band......whichever I get the most creative freedom. Bands have come and gone mostly cause fishing is priority. I have been a deck hand for 5 years with a very successful guide in the Eastern WA/Gorge fisheries by the name of Rob Curet of Columbia and Snake River Guides. I am a Master Bater.....hahahaha and know how to keep clients entertained. I will never fight a fish as mine before handing my rod off to a client. I am an expert at filleting fish with a non-electric knife, CPR and first aid trained, and can run the motor in an emergency. I'm pleasant to be around with a good sense of humor and able to read people very well. I am willing and available for any guide service needing an extra hand during this Spring Chinook Season. Long hours and Extreme weather, to me, are the best of fishing conditions. I also used to be a breakfast cook so no need to meet the clients at Denny's. If you or somebody you know is interested get a hold of me. I'm not really counting on too many serious inquiries, but it sure would be nice working in a profession I love.
Thank you and Tight Lines to All

Re: Need a Job?
I've been in production for the last 20 years but looking for a more of a challenge to my brain. I have a BA degree in education so anything relating to training/education would be a bonus. I learn quick and am able to communicate thoughts and ideas while respecting all points of view before basing a decision. Willing to relocate if necessary.

Currently i have an AA from Clark College in Vancouver, WA; I'm a Dive Instructor (3 years); Have worked in the Construction Industry most recently, Sales and Service prior to that. I am very handy.
Looking for a job during the school year, during the summer i work for Atlas Track and Tennis, although given the right opportunity i can give that up. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Need a Job?
Well, I have a job but the new boss and I are bumping heads. 4 of our 8 people have left because of this creep. Verbally abusive and firing from the hip! Demoting everyone.....
I'm what you'd call an IT generalist
I support production for IT Infrastructure as a Operations Analyst II. ITIL Certified, IBM Websphere Administrator and CA-View/Deliver archive reporting software Administrator. Experienced in zOS390, Librarian, Sysview, TMS, ISPF, PDSMAN, ESP, Jobtrac, Jobscan, DRVFI, DocAid, JCL(read and develop), UNIX, Kornshel(read and develop), SecureCRT, SecureFX,VI, PGP,GPG, FTP(legacy), LFTP over SFTP and few other forms of Secure file transfers. Project Management experience, critical thinker and enthusiastic! Also, experienced in Sametime, Sharepoint, Infra Enterprise, Remedy, Microsoft Office suite and Documentation writing. Electronic Commerce Admin and support for 3 years writing code for all encrypted confidential data files that were transferred to TP's or vendors via a few forms of governed file transfer.
11yrs cook/lead/assistant kitchen manager which doesn't hold a candle to above.
NOW, I do not have any college experience..no AA no BA no nothing! ... just short of a HS diploma too actually. I have a family, own a house, 2 vehicles, 2 boats..... I came from a poor family (mother and 5 kids). I did all of this on my own!!! I'm worth every penny!!! I'm proof that you don't have to pay for an education if you have the desire and will to learn and succeed! OK I'm done!

Re: Need a Job?
Well after 24 year in the telecommunications business I'm looking for work.
I'm looking for something along the lines of project management. I have extensive knowledge of utility construction as well as great customer service skills.
I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty or taking on any and all responsibilities of an operation.

Looking for employment..please help.
I suppose I should start this off with a little about me.
My name is Scott Edgar im 28 years of age and currently living near Bend Oregon. I have grown up in Seward Alaska and Sequim Washington for the majority of my life, I grew up right on the Dungeness river and fishing out of our families 19' Olympic boat out in the salt. Just recently spending two years in california were i discovered my new passion for freedive spearfishing. I unfortunately went away from working with my hands around 2002 and started working in the automotive sales industry....thats what led me down to california...well we all know how that turned out. Not that i was happy working in that environment to begin with but it payed the bills. For the last two years i have been working on the family ranch and spending some time getting my heart and soul back to a more peaceful place. I have found the love of my life and we are engaged to be married.
I am currently hoping to find a job working underwater video/photography, on a fishing boat as 1st mate/deck-hand, or possibly working at a state park etc.
I am extremely hard working and have no problems with working in the elements. I am more than willing to re-locate to the coast!!
I really appreciate any idea's or if you know of a job.. please.
Thanks again and god bless.
Scott
PS>>> I hope I posted this in the correct section of this forum.

Re: Looking for employment..please help.
If you are a good salesman there is work out therem I know of several companies that are looking for good salesmen that want to work. The problem is everyone got use to the good times of only having to call on a few accounts and now they don't want to go do the hard work to build a business.

Re: Looking for employment..please help.
There are plenty of deckhand jobs back in Seward. Although it's just for the summer, you may be able to put some cash away to last you a little into the winter.

I'm serious here... spend a week watching World Fishing Network on cable; make a list of every show's web site. Go to each, find the "contact us" page ; forward a cover letter explaining how your experience as a diver/angler/videographer fits THEIR needs and a copy of your resume. See what happens.

Re: Need a Job?
My son, 22 years old, has had some very hard times lately. Soon to be a father, lost job, lives with the girls's family, etc.
His exerience is hod carrier, concrete, demolition, & various other manual labor. He's strong as an ox, (bench presses around 300#) and does not mind hard work...he actually enjoys it!
He lives in Salem & has a motorcycle for nearby transportation. He'll do almost anything form walking dogs to yard work. He has very little personal equipment though.
If you have something for him please PM me.

Re: Need a Job?
I am looking for any summer job. I can work evenings, all day Tuesdays and on the weekends until school is out in June, then I am free to work whenever until september.
I have experience in the excavation and landscape businesses. I am 21 years old 6'2'' 200 lbs and I grew up working on our family farm, so heavy lifting and hard work is not an issue. I have my Associates Degree from Lower Columbia and I am working ony my bachelors in Environmental Engineering at PSU right now.
I am willing to do any kind of work and I am a quick learner. I need money to help pay for the rest of my college education. I live in Hillsboro and I am open to any and all possibilities.
Thanks,
Jeremy
