WTB Woodstove for tent
Looking for a tent woodstove. What is out there and available? I could wait until after elk season if it makes a difference in availability.

Look around for a small, house style, older wood stove. Free to cheap and work real well.

I understand the weight concerns, but I believe you can get a reduction fitting to go from a 6" to a 5".

You didn't say what your budget is, but Cabelas has a great deal on one. $99 for a nice stove complete with stove pipe, damper and spark arester. It a sheep herder style. The "alaskan" I think. I did not see the same deal on their web site, but it's in the new catalog that I recently got.

I have an amry style stove that I would sell for $40.00 if interested. It heats my 12 X 14 wall tent well but has to be stoked at least once thoughout the night.
PM me if interested.

I have one of those already. I guess I should be more specific...
I am after a cylinder stoveKwikcamp type unit. If I dont come up with one here, I'll just buy one from sportsman's.

Re: WTB Woodstove for tent
IMHO the Kwikkamp will hold a fire longer than a Cylinder because it is air tight. Both heat well.

Re: WTB Woodstove for tent
I would get one that is airtight (so you can damper it down and put the fire out easily) and has a baffle (helps with sparks and creates a hot spot for cooking). I bought one from Four Dog Stoves.

I upgraded a few years ago to the Kwik Kamp Blaze stove. It keeps a fire all night long. good unit.
