Default Tuna on the BBQ!!!!!!!

WOW!!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!! 2 minutes per side bathed in Italian dressing and just plain with a dash of salt. WOW!!!!!!!!! I see more dead tuna in my future.

My boy Spencer could not shovel it in fast enough last night. His fork was a blure and all I could hear was a muffled "yum" and "mummfffah" and "Ohhhhhh". I could not get him to slow down. The rest of the family was the same way. No talk, just concentration on the food and the words were "pass the tuna please NOW!!!!!!.

Thanks again Mel!

I've seen this before.

One of my greatest pleasures in life was sharing a fresh grilled loin with total strangers at the cleaning station last summer in Depoe Bay. I encouraged a little girl and her father to try some and that child ate, hand over fist, until she literally could not swallow another bite.

...... and then asked her dad when they were going to go tuna fishing.

A few years ago I bought a Tuna off a baot and attempted to cook it. That turned me off off tuna. I thought the stuff was only good for cat food.

A couple weeks ago I was in Depoe Bay and WP was kind enough to give me a loin. I got some recipes off this board and seared some. OH MY GOD is all I heard from me and my roomate as we scarfed it down. Then Salmonator was nice enough to give some Tuna last week. I seared some then I soaked some in Italian dressing then grilled it. Now I cant wait to get more fresh Tuna. It is by far the best fish I have ever eaten.

Thanks to all who posted Tuna recipes.

I really, really, really, really, really like TUNA! fishing.

Sharing it with others only makes it better. Sharing it with others while listening to the Rolling Stones is as good as it gets.

OK- so had an open bottle of Cajun Sauce. About an hour soak, tried about 2 minutes per side (no lid on the barby. low-med flame). It wasn't quite warm in the middle. Another minute per this time with the lid. Could have been a little hotter in the middle but man is that good.
Thank you UG for posting that "how come Tuna on the barbie taste like " thread . It was obvious afet that thread that we were overcooking.

Hi Catch and Eat,
I had tried that recipe for the first time 2 weeks ago, and Man is it killer. Way to easy to cook too! There went half a fish in 3 days. Like you said a pinch of salt and don't over cook it or it will dry out. I'm droolin' again. Pass the Tuna Please!!!

Here's a recipe for those who haven't tried it this way. Cut the loins into chunks about 2" across in a circle. Half cook some bacon so it's nice and juicy and wrap the bacon around the tuna and scewer it together. Next, put terriyaki sauce on the top with some pepper and BBQ until the fish is done. The bacon will continue to flavor the fish and the terriyaki will add quite a nice spice. I've litterally seen people shove others out of the way to get the last piece.

I'm slobbering now, so I guess I know what I'll be having for dinner!

Poor Swampy! I feel for ya man! I actually had to eat fresh chinook last night. (oh poor me, huh?)

Anyway, I haven't found anything that would take the shakes away, except a carnage trip on the ocean. Better keep your eyes peeled for a good day, call in sick with Tuna Fever and go for it. Hook up with a Dog or hop on a charter if you have to.

Other than that, my only suggestion is to get ahold of some of those tuna pills... Was that Corrirod or Miss B that found those on the 'net last year?

Hmmm the only tuna ive ever had was 'dock fish' and about 24hrs old at that. That was OK since 1) I had no clue what I was doing cleaning it at the time and 2) I used enough tartar sauce to make burnt bread taste good............I guess im going to have to take the plunge, get me on of those scalpamine patches (never been out) and get some good eats.

Tailchaser...I like that recipie. Reminds me of Ramaki (sp?) which is close but with a slice of water chestnut added for crunch
