Default Gun Dog Supplies?

Which retailer has the best selection of gun dog supplies in NW Oregon and SW Washington?

Or are you just better off buying on line?

I personally like to "hold and feel" prior to purchase especially on items I'm unfamiliar with but want the options on line has.

I don't have an answer for anything local.

I've always bought my supplies from (T.E.) Scott's in Indiana and also Lion Country Supply back in Pennsylvania. (Now both online)

They both have great prices and a full line of gundog supplies and equipment.

Before they imploded, I used to buy lots of stuff from Dunn's Supply in TN.

I just ordered a new TT collar from Gun Dog Supply. Free shipping and at a good price.

Lots of dog supply outlets on-line so easy to price shop. If you want several items you may have to order from several different suppliers to get the best possible price on everything.

What are you looking for?

Try sending a PM to "Hawaiian Time" here on Ifish. He owns and operates Cedar Hills Labs. I just spent an afternoon with him yesturday. He has a wealth of knowledge and knows the local go to spots. I believe he also is a distributer for some items. Good luck.

Certain items can be found at Sportsmans or Joes but the selection will be limited depending on what you want.

Gun Dog Supply has a bunch of stuff as does Macks Prairie Wings which carries mainly Avery dog stuff.

Do a search on gun dog supplies and you'll find an endless list to browse through.

Good Luck!!

Your just not going to walk into a store and find anywhere a complete supply of products.
Internet is the way. Dobbs is one online supply in N ca.

What kind of supplies you looking for? The majority of what I can't find local, I make myself.

Thanks for the info guys. I knew for the most part what I was going to get locally but was wondering if I had missed one place other then our local big sporting goods stores which have some basics but not a lot of choice.

My journey started this morning when doing some price comparisons on a Tri Tronics Pro 100 EX collar. Lots of on line options that for the most part were all competitive but you always have to factor in shipping etc. Even checked out the collar clinic but decided to buy a new unit.

I like to buy local if at all possible but local inventory kind of prevents that.

I do appreciate a couple of the on line sites you have suggested. I hadn't been there before but they do offer good options.

Thanks!

I got a Pro 100 from collar clinic and haven't had any problem at all. Another person on a dog site I go to bought a Pro 100 about three years ago, no problems.

Yea, I have had more then one person recommend Collar Clinic and they had great experiences to share. For the extra $100 plus dollars I got a new unit with a better warranty. Just piece of mind I guess.
Looking at the long term I guess?

Keep in mind that the Collar Clinic's equipment is refurbished and usually an older model than currently offered by the manufacturer. Also if down the road you need that collar fixed, you must have it repaired by them as they remove the manufacturers serial #s and therefore the manufacturers of the collar will not repair it. I tried to send a Collar Clinic collar to Tri-Tronics for repair but they won't touch it once the serial # is removed. The Collar clinic removes the serial # and covers it with their sticker. For training bumpers, I order the seconds from Neumann and Bennetts in Klamath falls. I have yet to have a dog complain about the bumper not being perfect. For large purchases like remote wingers, I order from Gundogs online as they ship for free for the higher end purchases. Gundog supply is a good one along with Lion Country. For meds or vaccines, Revival Animal or Foster and Smith are good ones. HT
