Where did the smelt go?

The smelt that have been in the lower Columbia vanished. They have been hanging around for the last week and a half until now. Maybe they decided to paddle up river. Maybe they decided to spawn at puget island. I know its still a little early to tell, but also its time as well. Maybe this cold river might have something to do with it. Any thoughts?......................Bobber Down
