Default Depoe TUNA Saturday

We went out of Depoe yesterday (Saturday) after tuna. We started trolling at 20 miles off shore but didn't get a hookup until we hit the 61 Degree spot. We landed 18 fish and lost 1 at the boat. All the fish were hooked at 61 degrees or a mile north. We even tryed trolling in about 8 miles and no hookups on the way in.
It didn't seem to matter what color to use, they hit on every lure I had handlines and rod/reel.

I thought for sure that I would have seen at least one other Salty Dog out there, but there were none. We say one charter and one commercial boat all day.

We managed to completely fill 2 150 quart coolers plus a few in the bow fish hold iced up, with just enough room in the hold for 4 coho that we got on the way in.

The load:

It was a great day on the ocean.

The weather was great, the wind stayed down until after we got out there then slowly came up to around 10-15 when she just starts to white cap.

What a difference a day makes. We were in that same area Friday...nothing but lockjaw. Glad you timed it right!

I think that the schools were reel tight. All of the hits were within 1/4 mile of two locations, so once we would get a hit we'd just run back over that spot again and again.
