Tuna Friday on the blitz
I went out on the Blizt friday. No luck for the boat as posted by Captin Mike,But what a class act and captin. I meet a lot of Ifishers out that day on the pond. Had a great time with all, But I think BentRod may of had some bannas hidden somewhere . I ask but he would not admit it.
and again thanks to Captin mike and crew.

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
I have to ditto the class act, as I understand the skipper gave everyone a full return trip because of the no-bite on the tuna. Not very many skippers I know would burn fuel out of their own pocket, work their tails off trying to find fish (that were off the bite), and then give a return trip. My hats goes off to you Capt. Mike, and may the fish Gods smile on you for the rest of the year.

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
A true class act, deserving of our support, not because he is an Ifish sponser (though that is a big plus) but for his attitude, contributions, and sharing nature. I am thinking maybe an all Ifish charter trip might be a fun activity. Anyone else consider this? How many seats would we need to fill to charter the whole boat Mike? It would be nice to relax and "party" with a boat full of friends! What do you all think?

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
I agree completely!! It was good to meet all the Ifisher's on the boat...I think there was 5, or 6 of us? It was a little sloppy for me in the morning, but things got a lot nicer in the afternoon. Kinda opposite of normal! I think the Ifisher's were:
TheRogue
Bentrod
Mark Mc
Rippenlips
Humminbird
Taddy
Anyone else?
Anyway, a thanks to Jennie for having Capt. Mike and the Blitz be an Ifish advertiser!! He's a class act; you could tell he was genuinely concerned when we finished off the day with the nada on tuna....his compensation to us was WAY above and beyond the normal.
The Blitz will be my number one reccomendation to anyone looking for an ocean trip, definitely!
TR
BTW, Bentrod was hiding a bag of something in the bottom of the garbage can when we returned to his place, smelled suspiciously like the "B" word

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
Marty,
Haven't talked to you in some time. Have you been to the tuna grounds since the winds have laid down a bit?
Have the tuna gone byby? Whats the word on the street?
The Blitz probably would have found them if they were around. :depressed:
Need a few for the canner when they come back.

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
Thanks Guys....I like to do my best and it was just a non bite day. But I can assure you of this, there are many sorry silver bullets out there that will have to suffer the consequences for their friends not doing their part!! I will have to double my efforts to make up! Tuna fear the Blitz!

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
I just want to say Capt Mike is a class act. This was going to be my first and last trip of the season due to a tight fishing budget. Thanks to Capt Muke I have another chance to get some albacore this year.

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
Ifish trip on the Blitz? Count me in!
I really like the idea of an Ifsher party on the Blitz. A bunch of us ('bout twenty) did an ifish goose hunt last year and it was a blast. Gave us time to meet and visit with each other and have fun doin' what we do.
Let's do it!

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
We might fill up The Blitz twice with all of the tunaholics on this board. I'd definitely be in for that.

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
I to was on the Blitz Friday with no fish; but I would definitly say it was not fun. Met Ifishers' and had lots of fun. When I met Rippin Lips I thought we had a good time, then I read his post and I get the bananna treatment! :-) Just kidding. Captain Mike AND his crew were GREAT! And I would've gone out with him again without the extra ride. Then stayed at Depoe Bay for the weekend and went coho fishing we were back at the dock taking care of our fish at 7:30 a.m. We could not keep all lines in the water at once--it was crazy! Again thanks Captain Mike and Rippin Lips will get his. :-)

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
We spent that no-tuna day on the Irish and faired just a skoash better than the Blitz. We put 3 in the box.
Like Mike on the Blitz, Ken worked his tail off to try and get us in the fish but they weren't to be found.
We all know that fishing always has the potential to hand us a skunk and your free return trip was, in my opinion, not necessary but demonstrates the quality of captain you were lucky to be fishing with that day. Our Captain, Ken, also felt bad about our near skunk and refunded $100 to each of us who fished that day. Again, I think that was unnecessary but, like Mike, Ken is a class act.
It would have been great to fill the box on Friday but that's why we call it fishing.
Maybe I should give up on tuna. NOT!! I spent Saturday in Englunds loading up on tuna tackle and will be ready in two weeks for the ocean to lie down.
As a side note, we traveled up 101 through Depoe Bay and decided to get us a crab to toss in our salad that night. We paid $14 for one of the dang things!!! Man, don't leave home without your pots!

Peter Mac- Stench is almost dead but will
never truly be destroyed. I'd say it's well-primed for some tuna slime!

Re: Tuna Friday on the blitz
Hmmm... Folks have been asking about the next TA meeting. Maybe we charter the Blitz AND the Irish for it? How many fishers can we cram on those two boats? What a blast that would be, huh?
