Default Magellan software

I bought a Triton 400 very recently. Upon purchase I was led to believe that Lake software was available to download. According to Magellan it is available but not for Oregon. Wow! I live and fish here. Anyone else run into this? Should I return the unit? Is there another option I am missing?

I have an Magellan Explorist XL. When I purchased it, and I think the same still holds true, there were only a couple of lakes available in the northwest. I don't know of any other GPS brand with any more lake software than Magellan. I have down loaded software that shows, rivers, river rapids and launches etc from Magellan. It shows rapids and their names plus alot of other info. As far as a GPS unit with most of the NW lakes, I think we will have to wait.

I've used both the Lowrance XOG and the iFinder H2O for lakes and rivers. They use the same cards in either unit and they're on standard SD. For lakes I use fishing hotspots and for rivers I use the topographic maps (I think lowrance calls these freedom maps). There's alot more waterway detail than I've found previously with Magellan Meridian or Sportrac units. I've borrow a friends Triton 400 for a couple outdoor trips, but wasn't all that impressed --- even with the topo maps loaded. Hope that helps.
