What happened in Depoe bay, we were out of Newort, we got our silvers on the North end of the pile.
I was wondering if the chinooks were more plentiful up north.....
Thanks Dan

Re: Depoe Bay reports...?????
Wak'M, we lauched out of DB today about 6:45 AM and went streight WEST to the 200' mark and started to troll. The water was the best I have seen this year and so we made it out in about 30 minutes after shooting the gap. I have a sled so I didn't run as fast as the vhull boats were. For the first time this year I did not take any, no, nada or none over the bow. We fished some spoons and plug cut with hoochies and taged our 6 fish limit in about two hours. We had about 6 junky nates during that time too. No chinook this trip but know of several boats that did well on chinook. I didn't see any over 25 lbs though. We also scored limits on bottom fish and was back at the docks about noon.
We had a fun day and then stopped at Spirit Mt. for a late lunch on the way home. All in all we have a great day on the water. truck ran great, boat ran great and the fish bit our hooks so we had a great day. Hope you find those nooks, they seemed to be scattered accoding to our reports.

Re: Depoe Bay reports...?????
I'll leave the story for my partner's (they embellish so much better than I do)--BUT, on a rusty scale, which I am sure weighed light, I caught a 42# buck, 10# silver, 2 legal (28-29") fat Lings, and 10 dandy rock bass. Boat limited.
I will say, before my detractors discover my post, that:
A) I caught the biggest salmon, lingcod, seabass, and silver
B) I AM THE MAN
C)YES, this is a brag post--you didn't have to read it
All credit goes to my guide UglyGreen, who is among the fishiest people I know--and I'm not just talkin' about his reputation or his smell.
I'd also like to thank the lowest member of our Totem Pole "Bank Maggot", AKA, at least for today--"Boat Beeaatch".
While he did have a bit of a rough time keeping up with the Masters (pi$$ed away more fish than a sea lion on diuretics), he is only a pup, and has many years to improve on his technique .
What a day, what a day!!!!

Re: Depoe Bay reports...?????
Sounds like you guys did very well. Hat's off to Uglygreen and crew.
Snapshot- The conditions were pretty good out of Newport as well. We had to travel west a good ways to find some fishy water temp but when we found it, it only took an hour to put six in the box. All hail the mighty coyote spoon

Re: Depoe Bay reports...?????
Tacklebuster, and Wak'M, way top go. We had the same story as we hit the first four on spoons and then finnished off with eveyone using the little fuzzy coyote. We actually caught fish on three different colors. the limits of 30 seabass was a bonus as I had never done that and it was a hoot............
We hit the 200' water mark and dropped in and started catching fish right away. Nothing slow about our action. Only disappointment was no nooks to take home.

Re: Depoe Bay reports...?????
You guys should have run for tuna with us.
18 fish landed at the 61 Degree spot.
Then came in and landed 4 Coho after letting 12 natives go.
Killer day.

Re: Depoe Bay reports...?????
I was in on the action Saturday as well. 16 fish to the boat, 8 hatchery coho bonked by 8:00 am. Then we bottom fished off Boiler bay and caught 2 lings 28 and 30 inches and a dozen seabass. Back at the dock at 11:30. Great day.
