How's the bottom fishing??

I have time to do something this week thought maybe I would come over Saltydog way. How's the bottom fishing? I hear the salmon fishing has been real good but I have salmon coming out my ears. I would love to go with the SeaJypzee bunch on friday but I have a itch and i can't wait. :smile: Also is it worth bringing my boat over? I only have a 18' Harbercraft and I'm too scared to get out of the shallow end of the pool. but crabbing sounds fun. thanks for your input Bendman

Bendman, I just have to ask how is it that you have so many salmon wehn you live so far from the ocean?

I was at Depot Bay today and took several limits. ONe of salmon and another of juicy sea bass. We had three on the boat and limited on both before noon. the wind comes up in the early afternoons so you need to go out early in the AM to fish for the rock fish. Just early enough to beat the wind, but not at O Dark Thirty. It was fun and we had a blast. I did the day trip thing and drove over at 4 AM and back in the valley by 2 PM if we had not stopped several places like Spirit Mt. for a while. Let us know how you do.

Snapshot, I havn't fished for salmon out in the ocean since I was a Kid. I catch all my salmon drifting corky and yarn. In the river (I let them come to me) :smile:
