Default 1st Ever Salty Dogs Zipperlip

Okay guys... we're officially going zipperlip on where to buy tuna gear

Pilar went to Fishermen's in OC yesterday to pick up some leader.

The guy tells him, "we're all out."

Pilar inquires as to how they could be out of 200lb mono

Guy tells him, "a bunch of ifishers came in and bought it all up... we're expecting a shipment on Monday, so you'd better get in here right away before they come back and buy me out again!"

Don't bother with Delta Park. They don't have any 200 line either. Matter of fact they are low on feathers and smaller lures. The things they did have are the $20-40 lures, and the real expensive flouro carbon line. The guy I spoke to said three days ago they had it all. They are expecting a shipment any day.

That tuna gear is expensive.

I could have told you they didnt have any 200lb mono Miles and miles of 20 lb mono though

I went in last week and they had only 150lb and 300 lb mono

You would think a Portland based store would get a clue and stock some tuna gear, at least some feathers, plugs, mustad 3412 hooks, double hooks, tuna cord, etc...... Oh well I guess the mail man needs to work too, and our coastal community needs a little business.

Just last week at Delta Park, they had a 2' cube box of tuna clones not TCF but they were tuna jigs.

I was in the OC store Wednesday. They had about a three foot by three foot section on a shelf with all these empty hangers that read "TCF-100" and "TCF-200". They had one lonely clone and two cedar plugs.

I wanted some 80lb Seaguar Florocarbon but their supply went from 20lb to 130lb with nothing inbetween.

You can get some 180# Maxima off a spool for $0.20 a yard. I bought a hundred yards of that and some 100# too on Thursday at OC fishermans. It is ultragreen.

I lectured the guy there about the out of stock condition and the inappropriate selection of his Salty gear. Offering the flourocarbon Seaguar line at $40 for 15 yards is just ridiculous IMHO. How much are you going to pay for 15yds of leader? Not $40, I'll wager.

If they spent the money on the line and TCF100's that people would buy we would not be grieving on OC Fishermans.
