Any recent water temp reports for Newport?

Salmon fishing may be a bust if the North winds have caused the water temp to drop out of Newport. I have had my best trips in 52 to 55 degree water. Anyone have a recent water temp report for the area and how far offshore are we looking to hit a 54 degree temp?

I tried asking the people that run the bait store at South beach and he was just about as helpful as most people on the main board when it comes to springer fishing

He wouldn't give me any info unless I wanted to go out on a puker.

Getting information from Chris can be like fishing for tuna in the bay...not too productive. I have never understood why someone would run a service business and have such poor service. I try to not even buy stuff there due to his attitude and demeanor. JMNSHO

How did you guys do for the Salmon on Monday or Tuesday when you went? Did the cooler water make any difference in the bite and was the fish still hanging in 48, 49 degree water?
