Stood up again!

I am really disappointed. I have been stood up for fishing not once but twice from members( no names will be mentioned) on this forum. The first time was back in July, I made a plan to fish with someone somewhere close to Salem. I rode my Harley down from the northern end of the Olympic peninsula (500 mile round trip) to fish for steelhead and the guy decided he didn't want to go fishing the morning of planned outing. That really sucked for me, but at least the weather was excellent for a motorcycle ride back home.

The 2nd time was just this week. I haven't been working for quite sometime now and missed my house payment for the first time this month, and stressed to the max over the economy and needed an out to relieve some stress. I seen this ad and thought ," hey this is perfect, new fishing buddies, real close to home and a great stress reliever

PM's were exchanged and I called the # provided in my PM and waited eagerly for a return phone call as to where to meet and what to bring. I called several times really wanting to go, since it would be inexpensive for me and close by. Needless to say, no return phone call The good side about this one is it didn't cost me nothing but time. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else out there, it sure leaves a negative feeling about people.

Bummer deal. Hopefully the person has a good reason, you never know? I haven't been stood up yet and hope to not do it to anyone else.....At least a phone call should be made.

This is not common. Ive NEVER been stood up either in an open seat offered by me or to me. Now... Ive fished with some real charachters that Id probably not fish with again.....thats a different story.

Bummer. I've fished with 26 ifishers, sometimes my boat sometimes theirs. I've never been stood up and would fish with any of them again. Keep trying. Ifishers are great 'cause they are experienced, like-minded, and can back the truck and boat down the ramp for you.

Sounds like the first deal was pretty raw. the second one is simply they did not return your call. That's life. Keep trying.

On the other hand there are those that get invited and then do not show. Those that do this are NEVER invited again and the word of his actions are spread amongst my buddies so that opportunities are fewer. Goes both ways.

I have had great luck meeting some folks off this board. Remember there is always some bad apples, looks like you were just unlucky.

I've found I-fishers to be a reliable bunch. Had lots of fun fishing with complete strangers last year when I offered open seats for estuary sturgeon. Hope to have some more great times next June.

That is unfortunate, I am 2 for 2 with Ifishers. Maybe the third time will be the charm.
