I mentioned earlier that I was making a trip south and some people seemed interested in the results soooooo....
I just returned from Rancho Leonero on the East Cape and as usual the fishing was good! The good news is, the Tuna were THICK, the bad news is, they were 35 miles out. That made for a long run in a "super panga". Strangly, there were no Dorado, the water had cooled down and they just weren't cooperating. In 3 days of Tuna fishing 2 of us boated 51 yellowfins, weighing up to "almost 30#". We released all but a few for the ice chest and our "guide". The other 3 days of fishing produced a Sailfish, 2 Roosterfish, and a SPECTACULAR Wahoo hook-up that I lost as fast as he struck!!!
I'm back to fishing the fresh water, as I don't venture out in my flat bottomed sled!!
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!
Anyone interested in a trip next year, contact me. I've even talked about trailering a boat down there to fish for a few weeks!!
