Took a long hike near Starkey today, setting up with the Foxpro at various stands.
Best I could do was a dawg coming in on me from behind, had no clue it was there until I heard him put on the brakes and high tail it out of there.
No problem, I'm new to this, failure is expected.
The woods were busy, early arrivals for first season Elk, there were folks sighting in their guns at the gravel pit off the 5110 road.(Good grief! You don't have your guns sighted in yet???)
*sigh*
I'd like to think the booming guns, atv's and the horse back riders were the reason I couldn't get a coyote to get close to me, except for the one that came from behind.
But that's OK, I'll figure this out soon enough.
But, this moment captured in pics, made my day. I walked right in on this doe with fawns bedded down.
But, they pranced, and danced, pausing to glance back, flipping their tails in the air with glee, or perhaps disdain for my intrusion.
Enjoy the pix.
