Pilar Tired of TUNA! Fishing?
Pilar tells me that he wants to go SALMON fishing this weekend.
He said I *might* be able to talk him into TUNA!
I thought about this for a while and figgered the best way to convince him he needs to take me TUNA! fishing again would be to ask for a little help from my friends.
How about it guys? Should Pilar take me TUNA! fishing again this weekend?

Re: Pilar Tired of TUNA! Fishing?
No, OceanBlue, I think he should take ME!!!
But wait, I'm not sure I want to sail with a guy who kisses the deckhands.
At this point, I'm not sure the species matters - it's just getting out that counts. You talk about being out there and the sights and sounds bringing tears to your eyes. You should have been stuck on shore looking at that flat ocean and watching everybody yarding fish up to the carking station. Now THAT will make the tears flow.
I was reduced to just rocking back and forth, whimpering.
Weld, Ed, weld!!!

Re: Pilar Tired of TUNA! Fishing?
Popeye - color me optimistic.
I'm really just having some fun with John. We decided on Salmon, then we decided on salmon and maybe if it was still early, we'd head out for TUNA! Then he tells me this morning that I should convince him to just do TUNA!
I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that just last night we finished canning, smoking and freezing... and he finally got some ?

Re: Pilar Tired of TUNA! Fishing?
Hmmmm.... Spent a great flat sunny Saturday on the dock with a pump. Spent Sunday bouncing around cathcing those itty bitty little no fight Salmon. Spent Monday (another flat day I heard) listening to the forecast about how bad the next week is going to be! Is 6 and 5 rough?
All set for a nice big Tuna Fleet run on Saturday too! :depressed:
I WANNA go TUNA FEEEESHING!
PS- Man I got sunburned  yesterday washing the boat down! Only a couple hours too!

Re: Pilar Tired of TUNA! Fishing?
You guys need to go SALMON fishing. I do have a bias opinion on this one cause salmon fishing is the only thing I have gathered up enough experience in the salt to comfortably do in my boat. Besides, I then could be a part of a Salmon Death Toll post I long for the day I awake with enough grapes and experience to skipper my boat to the Tuna grounds....
And then there's that darn 5 and 4 forecast projected for Friday. That tells me an early morning haul to the pile and fish till about tenish sounds pretty doable

Re: Pilar Tired of TUNA! Fishing?
By the way, a BIG thanks to Mel for installing that pump on Saturday. Thought about you all day and how your sacrifice made it possible for us to have a smooooooth trip. You were right! while you were tied up fixing your boat, the ocean was like a mirror!

No way, man! We've had our days shorebound wrenching on B.O.A.T (No, that's not "Break Out Another Thousand"... it is now, "B- - - - Of Another Type")
